The 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship has a strong and reliable partner once again: Škoda Auto. Fans in Stockholm, Sweden, and Herning, Denmark, will once again be able to see cars from the Czech brand as part of this partnership.

The stars of the lineup are the cars displayed directly inside the arenas, visible not only to spectators by the rink but also to TV viewers around the world. This year, the "first line" features brand-new models, led by the just-unveiled Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS.

At the Stockholm arena, Škoda is showcasing the brand-new, top-tier electric vehicle, the Enyaq Coupé RS, in the eye-catching Mamba Green colour. This striking car, with 340 horsepower and a driving range of up to 568 kilometres, stands out against the elegant Škoda branding by the ice.

The offensive duo in Stockholm is completed by the Enyaq’s sibling: the compact Elroq RS in beautiful Moon White. This model also represents the top of the lineup, boasting the same impressive 340 horsepower and a range of up to 560 kilometres.

In the Herning arena in Denmark, fans can admire similar vehicles in different liveries. The new Enyaq RS appears in classic SUV body and Moon White. The more compact Elroq RS wears the more distinctive, RS-exclusive Mamba Green shade this time around.

For fans and guests alike

But the two pairs of rink side cars aren’t the only Škoda vehicles hockey fans will encounter at this year’s championship. In Sweden’s capital, inside the Avicii Arena, visitors can also see the Kodiaq iV Sportline in Velvet Red and the Elroq RS in the signature Mamba Green. In Herning, visitors can admire the Elroq in Timiano Green. Škoda has also prepared a special pair of vehicles for the grand closing ceremony: the Enyaq Coupé RS in Steel Grey and the Elroq Sportline in Race Blue will appear directly on the ice.

Another part of Škoda’s hockey fleet includes cars located in the fan zones outside the arenas. Škoda has three vehicles in Stockholm and two in Herning, with one at each location serving as a special karaoke car where fans can sing their favourite hits. In Herning, this is the Elroq Sportline in Velvet Red; in Stockholm, it’s the Elroq in Graphite Grey.

These karaoke vehicles are joined in the fan zones by the Enyaq in Olibo Green and the Kodiaq Sportline iV in Bronx Gold (Stockholm), and the Enyaq Coupé Sportline in Race Blue (Herning). In Stockholm's fan zone, visitors can also view the new MVP trophy concept, test their reflexes, or try their accuracy in a shooting challenge. In Herning, one of the main attractions is a photo point with a giant goalie mask. Both locations offer a variety of additional challenges and activities, such as a hockey skills game and a gear-up challenge.

Škoda has also provided the tournament organizers with a fleet of 45 vehicles. The entire fleet is electrified, with two-thirds made up of the electric duo Enyaq and Elroq, and the remaining portion consisting of plug-in hybrid versions of the Kodiaq and Superb Combi.

Trophy for the Most Valuable Player

Since 2018, Škoda Auto has been designing, producing, and presenting the trophy for the tournament’s most valuable player as part of its long-term partnership with the IIHF. This year, the trophy has an entirely new design that reflects the brand’s modern design language. “The previous trophy featured what’s known as crystalline design. This year’s version represents a new interpretation of glasswork aligned with the Modern Solid language,” says Peter Olah, the Škoda Auto designer responsible for the trophy.

The trophy's design is based on a monolithic glass form, with pronounced cuts that define its technical and geometric exterior. The inner part is inspired by nature, with a seemingly liquid form created through hand-blown glasswork. The trophy's unique colour — a green shade developed exclusively for Škoda — further emphasizes its distinctiveness.
